OWNS draws its inspiration from a pivotal moment during founder Ray’s visit to Tokyo to meet World Shoe Shining champion Yuya Hasegawa. Hasegawa’s skill and passion for his craft ignited the spark to create OWNS for the good people of the UK.

With over two decades of footwear and leather industry expertise, Ray has worked as a footwear and accessories Product Developer for a number of well known UK retailers. 

His experience spans collaborations with best in class factories in England, Italy, and Portugal, as well as factory-based roles at Northampton based heritage shoemakers.

He has performed shoe shining exhibitions and talks globally from Toronto to Shanghai, and was a co-founder of the prestigious Melbourne based ‘FG Shoeshine’. 

This wealth of knowledge in footwear construction methods and materials forms the foundation of our mobile shoeshine services.

We are committed to blending traditional know-how with both heritage and innovative products, ensuring meticulous care and attention and a superior result.

What sets OWNS apart is our dedication to applying time-tested techniques not only to heritage footwear but also to contemporary sneakers. 

Recognising sneakers as a cultural phenomenon and an expression of personal style, OWNS takes pride in their restoration, applying the same meticulous care as with handmade welted brogues.

We use only the finest luxury cleaners and polishes, primarily sourced from the prestigious French Saphir and American Angelus brands.
